Nightly dental device :

Most people easily adapt to wearing a dental sleep device at night. After wearing the device for a short period of time it will become part of your routine, and most people will hate to go to sleep without it after they realize how much better they feel in the morning.

Pierre is at his last appointment. All his teeth are perfectly straight and he cannot stop smiling. He knows he will have to wear a nightly dental device after his orthodontic treatment, but his question goes as follow:

Why won’t my teeth keep their current position? It has been 14 months since I started to wear my dental devices.
In fact Pierre, the ligaments that support your teeth are the reason why they actually moved. The ligaments were stretched out and the bone progressively restructured, but this was done at a very slow pace. The remodeling of the bone and the relaxation of the supportive ligament will take 12 months to stabilize.

We, the specialists have noticed that the bottom incisors tend to move during the entirety of a lifetime. This is why I recommend to instal a permanent wire in the back of the bottom incisors. Obviously, if you wear the removable aligners during the night (you only need to wear it twice a week for 12 months), than the wire is not necessary.

The teeth are similar to wrinkles, as we age, we need to protect ourselves.
